Important Notices/Updates - Response to Civil Unrest in KZN

Dear valued customer,

The recent unrest in the country resulted in our Bidfood warehouse in Cornubia sustaining significant damage as a result of being broken into and looted. Our trucks were also stolen and/or damaged in the process. To ensure the safety of our staff, we closed our Pietermaritzburg and Empangeni facilities.

We were able to get into our facility in Cornubia on Thursday the 15th and with the help of a dedicated team and the amazing support of our suppliers, we have done an outstanding job in cleaning, repairing, and restocking our offices and warehouse and we are pleased to inform all our customers that we will be operational from Sunday night 25th July with over 80% of our stocks already in place. The balance of our stockholding will be delivered over the coming week commencing the 26th of July. This means that come Sunday night, our Cornubia, Pietermaritzburg and Empangeni facilities will be trading in full again. We are grateful to our colleagues in our branches around the country for rallying to our cause and helping us get deliveries to customers this past week.

Some functions in our offices are still not fully operational, so we ask that you make use of our online ordering platform MyBidfood to help facilitate our teams to get your orders to you as seamlessly as possible.

We are so grateful to our customers who have supported and helped us in these difficult times. We thank you for the many messages of support, and for those who arrived offering a helping hand to clean up. Those acts of kindness and ubuntu have helped our teams to rally and they are ready to start supporting our customers in turn from Sunday the 25th. To all our customers who may have suffered loss, our thoughts are with you. We wish your business a speedy recovery. This time will pass and we will continue to support you through this and times to come.
